Don’t buy a lemon! Even the best-looking vehicles and machinery can come with hidden complications. Kel’s diesel specialists will travel to site and conduct a detailed Diesel Pre Purchase Inspection, giving you peace of mind before you make a large investment.

Our Diesel Specialists Have Your Back

Kel Stanton’s Mobile Diesel technicians offer pre-purchase inspections on all diesel trucks, vehicles and machinery. Our specialists have your back, so we can make sure you’re investing your money in the best equipment possible.

Nobody wants to purchase machinery that’s mechanically or structurally flawed. Flawed equipment often requires excessive diesel servicing and repairs, which can cost thousands.

Our truck pre-purchase inspections are designed to identify any possible issues before you spend your money. Our mobile technicians will come to you and carry out a detailed inspection to provide peace of mind before you buy.

Transparency and honesty are our values – we won’t hesitate to tell you if your intended purchase needs diesel repair services, or if it’s a total lemon.

Why You Need a Diesel Pre-Purchase Inspection

Diesel pre-purchase inspections are the best way to protect your investment.

Kel Stanton’s Mobile Diesel Service will travel to you and inspect diesel trucks, vehicles, machinery and other equipment. We reduce the risk that comes with purchasing pre-owned equipment, so you can trust your vehicles and machines.

We work with private buyers as well as fleet operators. Combined with our fleet vehicle maintenance, pre-purchase inspections can set your business up for success.

Identify Faults

Our mobile diesel mechanics can identify potential problems with any truck, vehicle or machinery you’d like to purchase. Finding faults can help you avoid the lemons and save thousands of dollars on the wrong purchase!

Plan for Future Repairs

All vehicles and machinery need repairs from time to time. We’ll provide a report on the current state of your potential purchase. That allows you to plan for any future repairs or incorporate equipment into your fleet.

Negotiate the Price

There’s always room to negotiate a better deal. When you work with Kel’s diesel technicians, we can report on any faults, required repairs or potential problems. You can use that information to negotiate the right price.

Peace of Mind

We reduce the risk when you’re investing in a truck or other piece of diesel equipment. Our diesel pre-purchase inspections can tell you how the vehicle is running, identify faults and help you make the best decision possible.

Spend Your Money in the Right Places

Don’t pay too much for your vehicle or machinery purchase! Our pre-purchase inspections can save you tens of thousands of dollars on a potentially unreliable purchase. We’re on your side, making sure you’re not paying too much for what you’re getting.

Our team of diesel mobile mechanics can also help you negotiate the purchase price based on our findings. If a vehicle or machine comes with faults or a long list of required repairs, you can use that information to lower the sale price.

Doing this also allows us to make a complete list of all the work your vehicle or machinery requires. That way, if you decide to go ahead with the purchase, we can quote you in advance for any work that’s needed. We can tell you exactly how much it will cost to make the vehicle roadworthy, so you can adjust your offer accordingly.

Servicing all of South East Queensland

Our team works across South East Queensland (SEQ). No matter where you are in SEQ, we can travel to you to carry out your diesel pre-purchase inspection or truck breakdown service.

If you’re purchasing from interstate and are unable to physically inspect a vehicle yourself, we can travel to inspect it on your behalf. That way, you know what you’re getting when you pick up your equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will a Pre-Purchase Inspection take?

We allow for up to 3 hours of onsite labour to complete a thorough visual inspection. The actual inspection time varies depending on the type, size, make, model and location of your intended purchase.

Please note that diesel pre-purchase inspections are undertaken on a visual basis only, and we may only be road tested if the vehicle is registered and insured.

How much do Pre-Purchase Inspections cost?

The cost of a pre-purchase inspection varies depending on the type of equipment you would like us to inspect and how comprehensive you would like the inspection to be. Contact us for a quote on your pre-purchase diesel inspection.

What fails a Truck Pre-Purchase Inspection?

There are no “pass” or “fail” marks for a pre-purchase inspection. We’re simply checking the current condition of the equipment.

Once the inspection is complete, we’ll provide a report on the condition of the equipment, as well as any faults, potential problems, or required repairs.

This gives you the information you need to make the right purchase decision. If you decide to buy a piece of equipment with existing faults, you can use our report to negotiate a lower purchase price.

Is it legally required to have a Pre-Purchase Inspection for a truck?

There’s no legal requirement to conduct a pre-purchase inspection on a truck. However, trucks are large investments, and a pre-purchase inspection can prevent you from buying a lemon.

Note that a truck pre-purchase inspection is different from a roadworthy. You’ll still need a roadworthy certificate to transfer the truck’s registration into your name.

What is the difference between a roadworthy and a Pre-Purchase Inspection?

A roadworthy is an official certificate stating that a vehicle meets the minimum safety requirements to be used on public roads. A pre-purchase inspection is a professional assessment of the operating condition of a vehicle.

The pre-purchase report doesn’t affect whether a vehicle can be used on public roads.

In Queensland, you’re required to obtain a roadworthy certificate when selling a vehicle. The roadworthy inspection covers basic safety items, such as signals, tyres, brakes and steering. A roadworthy inspector generally won’t test for mechanical condition, performance or function.

Testimonials

"

Very honest and punctual service, Kel dropped into work one day and checked my slowly leaking diesel fuel pump, instead of trying to sell me a reco pump and full overhaul, he advised that it was only minor and obviously it would be best to fix it but it isn't urgent. That's how you know you have got a good mechanic...
